Information

The biggest fish in Archers Pool are the carp which average about 4lbs, with the occasional fish to 8lbs. The bream vary from 12oz to 2lbs, and other fish include roach to1lb, perch to a similar size and the occasional large crucian carp. There are also a few barbel which provide some excitement on light tackle. In the summer feeder fishing to the island works well, as does float fishing in the margin. Good winter silverfish sport can be found in the deeper water. Most baits will work on this pool with the most popular being maggots, casters and worms followed by sweetcorn and pellets.

Rules

These rules are to help maintain the health and welfare of our fish:

Day ticket Anglers

1. Anglers will use their own landing nets, large enough for the size of fish in the lake
2. No keepnets
3. On Orchard Lake a suitable unhooking mat must be used
4. Two rod limit
5. Barbless hooks only
6. No surface fishing, floating baits, floating freebies or bubble floats
7. No bread to be used as bait or thrown into the lakes
8. No barbeques or fires
9. No fixed rigs
10. No bait boats
11. No unattended rods
12. Fish from designated peg only
13. Take all litter home
14. No dogs

Additional Club Match Rules

1. We provide landing nets and keepnets and will count the number issued and returned
2. Dry nets on bank before and after use, 60lbs net limit
3. Carp over 3lbs in one net, smaller carp and silvers in the second net
4. Use our weighing sling
5. Bread can be used as a sinking hook bait only in the winter

Anglers are responsible for their own safety, all accidents must be reported before leaving the fishery
